Expanded Childhood
Lawton fed his family album to an outpainting model and asked it to invent whatever lay beyond the frame. What comes back is almost right and never quite — a kitchen that continues into a room nobody lived in, a garden that keeps going. The film is about how little of a memory is actually remembered, and how readily something else fills in.
